Adulting 101

Introducing Adulting 101, a comprehensive programme designed to equip our young people with the skills they need to navigate adulthood with confidence.

Aimed at fostering independence, building relationships, and developing essential life skills, Adulting 101 is your go-to resource for preparing for the challenges and opportunities of adult life.

Programme Overview:

Delivered in partnership with North West Regional College, Limavady Men's Shed and Shane Mulgrew, our programme covers a wide range of topics to ensure young people are well-prepared for adulthood:

  • “Make Yourself at Home”

    • Essential housekeeping skills: washing, ironing, cleaning, and home safety.
  • “Fed & Watered”

    • Cooking skills: meal planning, budgeting, shopping, and preparing simple meals.
  • “Happy Mind, Healthy Body”

    • The importance of mental, physical, and emotional health through the “Super You” programme with Shane Mulgrew.
  • “Maintenance Must Haves”

    • DIY skills: basic car and home maintenance, supported by NWRC.
  • “Digital Self Defence”

    • Online safety: managing online relationships, avoiding cyber scams, and responsible social media use.
  • “Futureproofing”

    • Qualifications and career guidance: support for job searches and career planning.
  • “Save Your Mate’s Life”

    • First aid workshop provided by Coastal Core.
